What started as a free service for the people of Worth Valley and then became a pay it forward project has evolved into a fully fledged cycle repair workshop for our local community.
Owned and run by Sam, a lifelong cycling enthusiast, bike mechanic, family man and resident of Haworth. Community Focus Cycles was unofficially opened in response to the surge in people wanting to get their bikes up and running and get out riding. Some of which perhaps didn't have the means to do so / had other financial priorities.
No one needs reminding of what happened in March 2020. So let's just say that the thought of sitting indoors another day or getting that old mountain bike out of the shed for a blast around the surrounding Worth Valley countryside didn't present a difficult decision.
Being bored and in possession of the tools, space and experience necessary to help others get their bikes up and running led to the development of Community Focus Cycles. CFC began as a free service using whatever tools and spare parts were available but quickly became a 'pay-it-forward' service where those who could afford to, made donations to pay for parts for those who could not.
Fast forward a couple of years and CFC is a fully qualified, fully insured, fully committed cycle repair service based in Haworth, offering low cost service and repairs on all types of bikes with no compromise on quality or customer service.

No one knows when Sam's obsession with bikes began.
Perhaps it was when he was 12 years old and his older friends gathered a bunch of old parts and cobbled together his first trials bike for him to join in riding over the courses they had set out using old wooden pallets.
Maybe it was when he was 6 or 7 and used to smuggle the Argos catalogue to bed just to look at all the bikes in there and imagine flying up and down the lanes close to home.
Or it may be that his love for the humble bicycle is part of his DNA and was always destined to be... It certainly seems that way today with a workshop full of bikes, a true passion for all things 2 wheeled and a job that allows him to practice his other obsession... Fixing things!
